Sweet Summertime

I LOVE SUMMERTIME!!!!! Every winter, people complain that it is too cold. Then, come summer, they whine that it is too hot! Not me, folks. I love the heat, and I MUCH prefer to be toasty rather than chilly. Summer also means relaxing, longer days, and weather much more conducive to being outside. I love the outside.

This summer, in addition to spending as much time as possible outside, I have set a few goals and determined to undertake a few projects. In no particular order, here they are:
1. Make my own cake plate based on an idea I saw on another blog.
2. Make my own laundry detergent, also based on said blog.
3. Paint my chest-of-drawers. Pray it looks pretty.
4. Make a lighter colored duvet cover for my bed. Or find a relatively cheap one.
5. Re-decorate my room in general using lighter shades so that it looks bigger!
6. Do some stuff-purging (clothes, craft stuff, kitchen) and generally re-organize.
7. Get in shape for the USMC MudRun in October.
8. Avoid tan lines.
9. Go on a fun overnight hike.
10. Write an article or two. Attempt to get them published...maybe...eek!

So that's it for now! I hope to keep you posted on the progress. :)

Final note: A good book that I just finished reading and highly recommend: Return to Modesty by Wendy Shalit. She's an awesome writer who did a TON of research and wrote a very interesting book on feminism, conservative views, the sexual revolution of the 60s and 70s, innocence, and modesty.
