Dress a Day in May: Rationale

So clearly, my blog has been languishing here, unused and nearly forgotten.  However, my office job has called for more and more blog-writing, and all of that experience is getting me excited to renew my own blog commitments.

As a part of my commitment to be more active on this blog, I have joined an endeavor called "Dress a day in May."  A group of ladies have all agreed to wear a dress or a skirt each day this May.  Each lady has her own reason for participating.  Some want to learn how to be more creative with their wardrobes.  Some are excited to celebrate the femininity that God has given us by dressing in girlier, nicer clothes than their normal sweats-and-chacos routine.  I think some just wanted a good excuse to go shopping! :)

For me, the reason to participate is multi-faceted.  When I saw the idea, I definitely thought it was a neat one.  I don't often dress up, but HoneySauce (nickname for the hubs) loves it when I do.  I have plenty of dresses and skirts, but I tend to avoid wearing them.  As we are prepping for a garage sale, it makes sense to dig them out and see whether or not I actually like them.  I have also always loved playing dress-up, so this is an excuse to play for a whole month!  Then there's this reason:

And as I strive to fulfill my new dress-wearing obligation, I am planning to also use it as an excuse to post daily to this blog.  Each day (Lord willing), I will post a picture of the dress/skirt outfit that I wear.  Let's get excited about this!

The first day post will be coming soon.  If you want to check out the blog-that-started-it-all, feel free to head over to http://dressadayinmay.com/.
